2 Ways to Make Event Planning Easier

Throughout the years of entertaining for colleges and corporate events I've picked up some tips and tricks for planning events while still keeping your sanity.  I’ll start with some low hanging fruit, it’s an obvious one but I'm always surprised how many people don't do this!

Make a List, Check it Twice

I know Santa season is long gone but he is a very smart planner. He had a list.  You need a list too.  Write down what needs to get done, who needs to do it and by what date.  I like to work backwards from the event date to make sure I leave plenty of time to get my first choice in venues and venders/performers.  Also leave yourself a bit of extra time for the little details you couldn't plan for. Then follow your game plan.

No More Post It Notes!

If you are still using post it notes for your lists and to dos... for the love of all things digital please stop! You need a great electronic way of staying organized.  I use a great free version of the app called Wunderlist wunderlist.com.  You can organize with different lists, set due dates, share between people and devices.  It is the perfect list app to stay organized for your next event!  Download it, use it, love it.

How do you stay organized and help plan your events?  Is there another cool app I need to know about?  Comment below and let me know your thoughts!
